Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth Enlists Channel Communications

Agency continues its relationship with VFHY and adds to its responsibilities.

BALTIMORE, MD, July 2024 — Channel Communications was awarded a seventh-year marketing agreement with The Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth (VFHY) to work on a variety of projects to promote and continue the implementation of youth nicotine/substance use prevention and obesity prevention campaigns for VFHY. The contract increases our existing agreement and could include the development, design and delivery of prevention messaging and the use of all the appropriate mediums and channels of communications.

The Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth was established by the Virginia General Assembly to lead statewide efforts to reduce and prevent youth tobacco use/vaping, substance use, and childhood obesity. In 1999, the Virginia General Assembly created the VFHY to distribute monies from the Virginia Tobacco Settlement Fund for the purpose of restricting the use of tobacco products to minors thought such means as educational an awareness programs on the health effects of tobacco use on minors, and the enforcement of laws restricting the distribution of tobacco products to minors.

Rick Grant, Vice President of Channel Communications said “We enjoy our relationship with VFHY and look forward to a seventh-year with increased duties and more assignments. VFHY is a worthy cause that everyone can get behind. We love it”
