Charles County Department of Health Connects with Channel for Medication Safety and Disposal Effort

Agency creates unified theme campaign focused on prescription medication storage and disposal

BALTIMORE, MD, February 2021 — Charles County Department of Health brings on Channel Communications and their deep expertise to produce a unified theme campaign focused on highlighting proper storage, safety, and disposal methods (e.g., local drop box locations) of prescription drugs.

Charles County was eager to have a standalone landing page – separate from the Department of Health’s main site – to carry the brand theme as well as spotlight important facts surrounding opioids, provide guidance on what to look for with prescription warning labels, and highlight upcoming community events. The landing page acts as a one-stop, single point of access for those seeking to gain information related to prescription medications. Additional deliverables included: downloadable hot cards, digital ads geo-targeted to Southern Maryland, and social media ads for Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook, for a six-week media deployment.

President of Channel Communications, Cory Farrugia, said, “We’re honored to join forces with another Maryland health department. We thoroughly enjoy working alongside these groups as their focus and efforts toward enlightening, guiding, and helping our local communities is extremely rewarding. We take these challenges very seriously.”
