Maryland Public Television Re-enlists Channel for Additional Statewide Geo-Targeting Campaigns

Agency focuses on targeting employers state-wide for Maryland Labor Works and Torsch Foundation

BALTIMORE, MD, February 2021 — Maryland Public Television (MPT) seeks support from Channel for two new statewide geo-targeting campaigns: Maryland Labor Works and Torsch Foundation. Both campaigns targeted the entire state of Maryland, including the City of Baltimore.

Maryland Labor Works, which focuses on Work Sharing – is a voluntary program that provides an alternative to layoffs for employers faced with a temporary decline in business due to lower economic activity. During events like COVID-19 pandemic, Work Sharing can mitigate or prevent the adverse effects of the current economic crisis by keeping businesses connected to their employees, and ensuring employees continue to receive compensation. The effort targeted minority, female, and veteran-owned business in the retail and hospitality industries – more specifically HR, hiring managers, CFOs. Targeted display ads and YouTube TV ads were used to generate maximum impressions and lift site traffic. The campaign ran from March 1-March 31, 2021.

The Torsch Foundation project, which aims to reduce opioid harm, utilized Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube video PSA ads with a goal of delivering maximum impressions and site traffic, specifically between adults that are deaf, hard of hearing, and/or LGBTQ. The campaign is set for an April 2021 launch and will run for a 30-day period.

“It’s a privilege to continue our partnership with MSAA and MPT, while showcasing our ability to generate impressive engagement and results, and, more importantly, increase the visibility of such meaningful campaigns that combat against both unemployment and the opioids epidemic.” Dan Coury, Senior Account Executive at Channel Communications, stated.
